Mobile Media Server

The ProSyst Mobile Media Server turns mobile devices into a fully featured media servers that interoperates automatically with other home media appliances like TVs, picture frames, game consoles, audio systems, etc. Take photos and videos with your handset and play back that content on your TV!
MEdia Server

ProSyst provides the Mobile Media Server as ready to use end-user apps (for Android) and as OEM version for a variety of other devices.

How does it work?

The ProSyst Mobile Media Server implements the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) specification. DLNA defines how media devices of different types (servers, play back devices or remote controller devices) automatically discover each other in the network and share media content. DLNA is rapidly being adopted by most major home appliance manufacturers as it is the only standard for sharing media content.

ProSyst Media Server shares content over WiFi networks. Media playback (renderer) devices and controller devices need to be DLNA compliant.

Supported Platforms

The ProSyst Mobile Media Server is built over OSGi and is thus portable across a variety of platforms. It is available as these versions:

  • Consumer App for Android: Available from Android Market Place (called MediaServer).
  • OEM App for Android, Windows Mobile, Linux, Nokia S60 and Brew.  Mobile OSGi is a prerequisite, refer to our mBS Mobile Runtimes.

Our Mobile Media Server is being tested with a growing number of renderer and controller devices.
